Cyber Monday & Free Gift

Hello!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend filled with family and friends, good food and good memories! We had a great time, and I even had some opportunities to experiment with Thrive foods, that I’m excited to tell you about in the coming weeks.

The sale is winding down…there are only 14 hours left…the sale ends at midnight tonight MST.
Here are a few of my favorite picks….some for the pantry, and some for gift giving….you really can’t go wrong with a gift of preparedness.

Items I use in my kitchen almost every day:
Tomato Powder: I no longer purchase cans of tomato sauce or tomato paste, for a couple of different reasons. First, the cans are lined with BPA which interacts with the acidity in the tomatoes. No bueno. Second, here at my altitude, cans of tomato sauce can bulge within a couple of months simply because of the high altitude, but not necessarily because they’re bad….but it’s not a chance I can take, and used to throw away lots of tomato sauce. Now, I don’t have that problem, or the problem of only needing a tablespoon or two of tomato paste from a 6 ounce can. I can mix up what I need, when I need it. Definitely one of my favorites.

Sausage Crumbles: Already cooked, and drained, these little firecrackers of flavor are at the top of my favs list. I throw them in soup, in our omelets, in bolognese sauce….there’s a whole lot of flavor, so a little packs a punch.

Chopped Onions, freeze dried: no more crying, no more chopping, no more nicked fingers. These are such a time saver (and an eye saver) in my kitchen. Plus, I love that I can assign one of my younger kids to cook and they can do it without using a knife.

Raspberries: Thrive fruits have so many uses in my kitchen. I like to throw some in a jar with lemon balm from the garden and let it sit in the sun for a few hours, for a delicious and refreshing sun tea. I used them in my Raspberry Sauce for my Buttermilk Pie on Thanksgiving, AND I used them to make a great, healthy jello dessert. I am not a fan of jello…the red food coloring and artificial flavors…yuck. So I experimented for Thanksgiving (I know…a no-no) and made a jello using ground and whole berries, knox gelatin and apple juice…it was a home run…everybody loved it. I’ll be sharing that recipe with you in the coming weeks.

Instant Brown Rice
Instant Pinto Beans
Greek Yogurt Bites
Instant Milk Powder

A gift of preparedness is a gift of peace of mind. Here are some great ideas for those you love:

Sawyer Mini Water Filtration System Single AND 4 PACK
Heavy Duty 5-gallon Water Container
Camp Chef Portable Outdoor Stove
(which according to the extension service can also be used INDOORS with a window cracked for ventilation)

You can order any of the above mentioned by going to my website: http://jenncamargo.thrivelife.com/home, OR by calling or texting 801-367-1607, OR by emailing me at

Thrive: May Specials & New Products

My goodness, it’s already the 6th of May! Is anyone else’s head spinning?

10322847_10152047959042175_2941649838172870042_n

I just wanted to tell you about the Thrive May Specials, and a smokin’ deal, and some new products that I’m really excited about.

Flyer_-May-Specialsclick here for larger image

The Q-pon item this month is the Freeze Dried Red Bell Peppers. You can get this price through your Q, or by ordering through me.

Also on sale are the Sliced Strawberries and the Strawberry Yogurt bites, both fantastic in things like Summer Porridge or Instant Oatmeal Mix.

tomato-powderYou will also want to RUN RIGHT NOW and buy some of the Thrive Tomato Powder. I have to tell you, I was skeptical. I’ve used other company’s tomato powder before and it was awful tasting and not easy to use at all. Basically a waste. So I have to admit I was nervous to try the Thrive Tomato Powder the first time….but now I use it EVERY time. I don’t even buy canned anymore. Not only can I avoid the BPA lined cans, but at the altitude I live at, it takes a very short storage time (a year or less) for a can to start bulging, or to spurt when opened, and then I just have to throw it away, even though it’s probably just pressure from the altitude, but who can tell for sure, so I have to toss it. (Yes, 2014 winner for world’s longest run-on sentence!) I use it for tomato paste, tomato sauce….for a little tomato flavor in things. It is that good. And on sale. Score!

And because I’m so nice, I’m even going to include a little recipe this month for Red Enchilada Sauce. You’ll looove it. You’ll try it and be like, “I don’t know what I ever saw in that canned stuff.” And it uses the Thrive Tomato Powder….which is on sale…..

10294472_10152047958637175_990341627502366519_nDuring May Thrive is running an unadvertised special on the Harvest 72 #10. It holds 112 #10 cans (I’m drooling, I apologize). The shelf is 72 inches high, 24.5 inches deep and 36.5 inches wide.  Each track holds 7, gallon sized cans. It’s regularly….$459.99…yeah. BUT it’s on sale through May for $225. Uh-huh. I gotta get me one of these bad boys. This special is only available through me, so call me (801-367-1607) or email jenn {at} theEssentialHomemaker {dot} com.

Flyer_-New-Sprout-and-Seed-Kits-1click here

And last but not least (so so so excited about this one!!!) Thrive has announced a couple of new products this month. In addition to the fabulous Thrive Garden Seeds Kit, they now are offering the Sprouting Kit  (This kit comes with everything you need to start growing your own sprouts, including equipment for 3 different sprouting methods so you can choose what works for you) and the Melon Seeds, and they also have a refill package of sprouting seeds. These are all non-hybrid, non-GMO goodies. I know what you’re thinking……NO WAY! And so I say…….YES way. Now, if you read my blog (please say you read my blog…pretty please) you know I’m passionate about my sprouts and I find them to be the perfect food and am even more entranced by the idea of being able to create fresh produce on my kitchen counter, any time of the year. This is GOLD! You can check out my post on sprouts and find some tips on sprouting, but you can also use the handy guide.

That is just a quick overview of my favorite specials and newbies this month. Check out the whole shebang by clicking on the May Specials image.
I hope you have a wonderful month filled with May flowers! And lots of gardening….if you like that thing.

Leave me a comment and tell me what new product or special YOU are most excited about!

And MORE new stuff….there’s a new BAKERY LINE! Bread dough mixes, cookie dough mixes, cornbread mix….and YEAST. Thrive is well on it’s way to covering all the bases. And delicious, too. At our convention, I got the chance to taste ALL of the new products and they are fantastic. In fact, they’re so fantastic that I wanted to give away one of the new Vanilla Sugar Cookie Dough mixes to one lucky winner. You’ll love this cookie dough…super versatile and easy to use.

And I think I’ll throw in a Thrive Guide, too. Yeah.
